Founded by Amanda T. Fair, poet and dancer, Poetic Xpressions Dance Company combines Baltimore's talented spoken word artists and poets and PXDC dancers to explore both political views and the human experience. The two art forms -- dance and poetry -- play an equal part in the company rep, a combination of very light and fun technically challenging pieces as well as other works that explore controversial issues such as race, religion, sexuality, and events current and past. Fair is a recent recipient of the prestigious Baker Awards’ People’s Choice Prize.
