“Spectacularly magical…Visually stunning. If you are looking for an entertaining, wonderfully weird, and provocatively thoughtful play, then this is one you do not want to miss.” – MD Theatre Guide
JUXTAPOSE | A Theatrical Shadow Box
Happenstance Theater
December 4 – 21
In JUXTAPOSE, the lives of eccentrics co-existing in a tenement building are interrupted and illuminated by a human shooting star who arrives through their roof. Themes of mortality, ephemera, extinction, and community are animated along with curated objects in a theatrical shadow box inspired by the works of Joseph Cornell.
As humanity teeters on the edge of the frame, JUXTAPOSE offers audiences the ability to laugh at fear and offers that the limitless hope of imagination might save us from the despair of ending.

Gwen Grastorf, Mark Jaster, Sabrina Mandell, Sarah Olmsted Thomas, and Alex Vernon
